The best time of year to visit Val Thorens
A question we often get from our clients is, “when is the best time to visit Val Thorens?”
The winter season in Val Thorens runs from mid November until late May. Each month of the winter season brings its own unique atmosphere and has its own unique advantages. When to visit the resort will totally depend on your personal preferences and what is most important to your group.
November
If you can't wait to get your skis on then head to Val Thorens in November, as it is the highest resort in Europe it is one of the very few resorts open at this time of year. The rest of the Three-Valleys is closed but you can enjoy the highest parts of the resort.
December
The first two weeks of December are usually the quietest of the season and therefore you can get an amazing deal. The only downside of these two weeks is that you are risking snow conditions and not all of the lifts are open. However, the snow is often fantastic and as there is no one around there are no queues at any of the lifts so you have the world’s best ski resort to yourself.
