The best snowparks in Val Thorens and the Three-Valleys
The Three-Valleys is home to some of the best snowparks, boarder cross and half-pipes in the Alps. So whether you are braving your first box or mastering 900's you will be able to find fun freestyle facilities for all abilities in Val Thorens.
Val Thorens Valley Snow parks
There are two main snowparks for freestyle in the Val Thorens Valley. The Val Thorens park and pixel area in Les Menuires both have a huge variety of features for riders of all abilities.
The Val Thorens park is huge at over 70,000 square metres and has some of the biggest features in the area. Due to the altitude of the resort, the park team in Val Thorens have a lot of snow to build these features with and they are solid until the end of the winter season.
The Val Thorens park is accessed via the Moutiere chairlift and has a drag lift so you can easily lap the park.
In the park you will find:
- Beginner, intermediate and expert kickers
- Lots of boxes and rails
- Rollers
- Boardercross
The Pixel area in Les Menuires accessed via the Sunny express chairlift. Like the elements park in Meribel, the features tend to be a bit smaller, so they are great for anyone looking for their first freestyle experience.
In the park you will find:
- Boxes
- Kickers
- Boardercross
Meribel Valley Snow parks
There are two main snowparks in Meribel. The largest park is above Mottaret and accessed via the Plattieres bubble or Chatelet chairlift. The smaller park is called the Elements park which you can access via the Legends chairlift from Meribel centre.
The larger park is run by the world famous action sports company DC and is known as DC area 43 or the DC park.
In the park you will find:
- Two half pipes (one intermediate and one for expers only
- Kickers for beginners, intermediates and experts
- Small boxes and rails
- Professional level rail features
- Rollers
Throughout the year there are professional competitions that are well worth watching. Our favourite is the DC hit and run which not only tests the riders' freestyle ability but they have to race down the course in the fastest time possible.
The elements park is a smaller park and has been designed with newcomers to freestyle in mind. It has a fun boardercross with cameras to film you racing. You simply scan your pass to start the cameras and you can view the footage on the internet afterwards.
In the elements park you will find:

- Small kickers
- Whoops
- Boardercross
Courchevel Valley Snow parks
The snowpark in Courchevel is called the family park, However don't let the name fool you into believing this park is for kids. Serious riders can have fun on the huge kickers, rails and airbags all day.
Each winter the Courchevel team expand this park and the features are continuously getting bigger and better. The park is located next to the Verdons piste directly above Courchevel 1850 and there is a drag lift next it so people looking to continuously lap the park can do so effortlessly.
There is an airbag to practice your tricks on. One jump costs just €3 or you can pay for an hourly pass.
