Like the UK, the major telecoms providers in France usually provide excellent bundle deals for internet, TV and phone. Internet speeds in Val Thorens are surprisingly good for such a rural area, though during the winter months heavy snowfall can affect the lines and it is common for the internet to cut out.
The two main companies we usually recommend to property owners in Val Thorens are Orange and Free. They are good value and once you are set up, they offer decent customer service. Orange even has a dedicated English speaking customer service line however, you may be waiting a while to get through.
Having a WIFI connection in your property is expected by rental guests and is even more important since Brexit as British guests no longer have free roaming across Europe. You will be able to get an unlimited connection for around €40 per month which will include some TV channels.
We would also recommend purchasing a Smart TV or Amazon fire stick so that your rental clients can watch their favourite programmes on demand over the internet.
If the previous owners of your property have had an internet connection and phone line, it is sometimes possible to set up the internet without having an engineer visit. Though in some older properties this might not be the case.
