What to pack for your ski holiday

Ever felt stressed when packing to go away skiing, fearing you may have forgotten something, the last thing you want is to have to purchase it in resort when you know it is at home. Well now you don’t have to worry, here is everything you need to bring for your next ski holiday..

Start from the inside and work your way out:

Base layers- Thermals are important to wear to keep you warm and dry. If you go for the right thermals they can keep you warm when you’re cool and keep you dry when you’re hot and sweaty!

Mid layers- The more layers you wear the more insulated you will be, with more thinner layers you can keep warm without feel too bulky and restricted.

Outer layers: A ski Jacket and trousers/ salopettes we recommend bright colours so you are easy to spot in the snow and if you can get waterproof outer layers, all the better!

Head and Feet- It’s important to have thick ski socks, not only to help with the comfort of rental ski boots but also keep your feet warm. Then don’t forget a woolly hat too, if your feet and head are warm your body will be warmer.

Protective Gear

As fun and exciting as a ski holiday can be it can be dangerous so it is important to ensure you bring all the right protective gear to have a more enjoyable holiday:

  • Helmet- isn’t an option when it comes to your safety on the mountains
  • Gloves- not only to protect from the cold but also to protect your hands if you fall
  • Snood/ buff- to keep you face and neck warm
  • Protection guards (if required)- An essential for any beginners coming skiing/ snowboarding for the first time
  • Goggles and sun glasses
  • Sun cream- can be easily forgotten when going on a ski holiday but you may see more sun on the slopes than you have done on a sun holiday

Clothes for the evening

Don’t forget not all your time will be spent in ski gear, so don’t forget to bring warm clothes to venture out in the evenings in or comfy clothes if you’re going to lie up in front of the fire in the evenings in your apartment/ chalet. Slippers will always come in handy as well for walking around your accommodation as your outdoor shoes are likely to be wet.

If you have access to a swimming pool/ hot tub or spa then don’t forget your swim suit!

Ski Equipment

If you have your own ski equipment eg skis/ snowboard or boots then don’t forget to pack them, if not don’t worry we have loads of partnerships in resort with rental companies who offer our guests amazing discounts. Just get in touch for more info!
